Narrative Strategy & Education

Liberation Through Land was my first narrative intervention, because the course ultimately disrupted the story of our separation from land-based community systems.

During my graduate program in Earth Systems and Communications, I designed a syllabus and taught a class that brought 22 students to the 5-acre organic farm on Stanford’s campus to cook, grow produce and learn about the history of land-based oppression in the U.S.

The course centered the experiences of communities of color in the U.S. and ultimately went on to be taught twice more. Check out this Stanford News piece to understand more about the course impact.
